Theme: The Forces of Revival

Revival is essential for every believer and is not an option but a necessity. It is through revival that God's people experience renewed spiritual life, passion, and a deeper relationship with him.

What is Revival?

1. Revival is the injection of the life of God into mortal beings. Through revival, God raises his people, and no one can bring them down (Hosea 6:2; Psalms 89:20–23).

2. Revival is also the move of the Holy Spirit that moves God's people forward. Just as the Spirit moved upon the waters at creation (Genesis 1:2–3), the move of the Spirit brings visible transformation and progress in the lives of believers.

3. Revival is the restoration of passion, spiritual fire, and zeal for the things of God (Romans 12:11). Revival brings the desire to serve God wholeheartedly.

4. Revival is the return to our first love for God. It restores the love and devotion we had when we first received Christ as Lord and Saviour (Matthew 24:12).

5. Revival is a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Joel 2:28; Isaiah 32:12–15). Every season of dryness and unfruitfulness comes to an end when God pours out his Spirit, bringing growth, fruitfulness, and restoration.

6. Finally, revival is a return to righteousness, as God's people are called to seek him and live holy lives (Hosea 10:12).

The Necessity of Revival

Revival is the supplier of spiritual fire. Believers are called to keep the fire of God continually burning in their lives (Leviticus 6:12–13).

Revival is also God's strategy for surviving the end times. Spiritual vitality comes through the Holy Spirit, who gives life to believers (Romans 8:11). Revival strengthens and safeguards the Christian faith, enabling believers to discern truth from error (1 Timothy 4:1).

What are the Forces of Revival

1. The Force of Desperation

Revival begins with a genuine hunger and thirst for God. When believers become desperate for his presence, seeking God becomes the highest priority (Psalms 63:1–2).

2. The Force of Purity of Heart

Revival flourishes where there are holiness and purity. Sin hinders God's move, but when iniquity is forsaken, revival follows (Psalms 66:18; 2 Timothy 2:19; Proverbs 1:23). Holiness remains the foundation of God's work.

3. The Force of Death to Self and to the flesh

Revival requires dying to the flesh and surrendering personal desires to Christ (1 Corinthians 9:25; 1 Corinthians 15:31, 36). Believers are called to die daily so that Christ may be fully revealed in their lives.

4. The Force of Humility

Humility creates room for revival. A humble and teachable heart attracts God's presence, while pride hinders spiritual growth (Isaiah 57:15).

5. Prayer and Fasting

Prayer and fasting are essential for experiencing revival. They are not optional but necessary disciplines for every believer seeking God's power (Luke 24:49).

6. The Force of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the source of revival. Believers must continually be filled with the Holy Spirit, for without him revival cannot be sustained (Romans 8:26; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:5; Acts 2:1–4; Job 33:4; Romans 8:11).

7. The Force of the Word of God

God's Word revives the soul. Believers are encouraged to meditate on Scripture daily and allow it to shape their lives (Psalms 119:25; Jeremiah 15:16).

8. The Force of Obedience

Revival follows obedience. Ezekiel's obedience to God's instruction brought life to the dry bones, demonstrating that God honors those who obey him (Ezekiel 37:7–10).

9. The Force of Preaching Christ

The preaching of Christ brings transformation, joy, and revival to communities (Acts 8:6–8).

10. The Force of Reverence

Revival thrives where there is reverence for God. Believers are called to honor and respect God's holy presence (Habakkuk 2:20).

The church is encouraged to pursue a lifestyle of holiness, humility, obedience, prayer, and devotion to God's Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to bring revival.
