What is obedience?
Obedience is a great covenant practice to everyone who wants to experience God’s power and glory.
The results of obedience of faith
1. Obedience of faith is the gateway to a world of supernatural breakthrough (Deuteronomy 28 vs 1-14). Supernatural breakthrough comes with a condition “It shall come to pass, if you diligently obey God’s voice”. Be prompted in your heart to obey, walk and act according to what the Bible commands us.
Deuteronomy 28:1-4 says if you obey, all blessings shall come upon you, and you will find yourself on top in everything you do.
2. Obedience of faith is the gateway to the supernatural manifestations. John 14:21 says those who obey Jesus’ commandments are loved by God. God reveals himself and manifest to people who love him and obey his commandments. If God says yes, nobody can say no, if God opens the door for you, nobody can close it.
3. Obedience of faith may be costly, but the end result is priceless. I Kings 17 vs 8-16 tells us a story about the widow who was in a difficult situation, planning her and her son’s final meal before starvation. Yet, she chose to trust Prophet Elijah’s promise from God by giving the last meal to Elijah, and left with nothing. Her obedience was indeed costly, but the end result was that the food never run dry.
God wants us to put him first no matter what.
Genesis 22:14-18, Abraham by faith took his only son for sacrifice, he obeyed the Lord. Abraham received a second voice that he should not sacrifice his son, and gave him a lamb instead. The Lord blessed him and multiplied his descendants.
4. Jesus Christ as an example, was obedient until death. Now he is reigning in heaven and earth. All power is given unto him, according to Philippians 2:5-11.
5. Commit God’s integrity to perform (I John 3:21-22 and Malachi 3:10-12). Do things that pleases God. Give with all your heart (II Corinthians 9 vs 6 and Luke 6:38).
6. Obedience of faith makes things happen. Job 36:11 says if you obey and serve the Lord, you will spend the rest of the days in prosperity and years in contentment.
